To be hanged till death.....bas keval itna!!!

After a wait of 18 months,Ajmal Amir Kasab, the 'unfortunate' surviving terrorist got what he wanted....DEATH!!!

'Someone who dies for jehad's sake goes to the heaven' is the concept not only Kasab, but all terrorists are indoctrinated with...Hence with that in mind public prosecutor Mr.Nikam's claim that this punishment will deter future 'Kasab's' from committing similar actions is quashed. Moreover Mr.Nikam's potrayal in the media was severely disturbing. He came across as someone, who made this verdict possible by his sheer acumen when the known fact is that it was impossible for Kasab to escape death, whoever be the defence lawyer(Even a Sunny Deol from Damini or a Govinda from 'Kyunki main jhoot nahin bolta'wouldn't have have obtruded much change).

But we,the hoi polloi, the mango people, expected something more from Judge Madan Laxmandas Tahiliani. How can the IPC have a similar punitive action for one murder and 166 murders(precisely what Kasab and his friends did)!!Moreover the verdict would have been more effective if Kasab would have been spared death but have his arms and legs amputated(No human considerations please!!).There is however,no provision for such punishments even for the rarest of rare cases(like the one under discussion).
It is high time the Indian Penal Court include such provisions because a strong message needs to be sent out to the perpetrators of such ghastly crimes....

I'm serious

Now this is definitely a concern!!!

When you post something of a very serious nature, you at max receive(a paltry) 3 comments...and when you end up posting useless stuff about a "mesmerizing beauty/beauties(MB)",you go onto receive more than 10 comments(unofficial included). This more often than not inhibits one from taking up serious issues(and also you start pondering about the nature of friends you have made over the years...lolz).But I wouldn't be taken aback......

Intellectuals and intelligentsia are also a part of my group(before you start thinking me a buffoon)and on one such discussion over a few cups of coffee, one revered member suddenly pitches in "kuch bhi bol..apna India is the best country in the world...only if one could do something about this 'corruption' thing" This thing struck me hard..though like other Indians I forgot the issue within a few minutes!!

The same day,I was going over to a friends place for dinner(he had obviously invited me..change your opinion about me) and en route the traffic police stopped me and asked me to produce legal papers of the vehicle...They weren't there..I went up to him,"nahin hai uncleji, chhod dijiye na plz"..."thik hai",he said...now this man's going to ask for something I cannot even dream to pay and eventually he'll settle at something I still cannot pay...I thought to myself!!!
But to my surprise the man said,"dus rupiya dijiye, aur nikal lijiye"..Rs 10 was affordable(I don't care what you think about me)..but wasn't this supposed to be too less for a bribe..
The following day after a lot of searching and stuff,I found out that a Traffic Constable gets paid a meagre Rs 99 per day...so what I paid him up,was almost 10% of his daily income...it might not count for someone like us..but for him it does!!

Basically what I want to say is that there is no point blaming the traffic constable...the problem lies with us....why do we go ahead and pay bribe to evade legal hassles??why do plenteous people have to evade taxes which eventually makes governmental reforms for such employees inconceivable and further them retorting to unfair means!!!Moreover what can you expect when the population goes up at this rate...it makes a mockery of any planning either industry,agriculture,education...

So what we're facing now is a direct consequence of what we or our brethren is doing..come on YOUNGISTAAN it's time we make a difference..
MERA DESH MAHAAN!!!

Lucky Luck'ier' Luck'iest'!!!

Lucky

Well, after an eventful vacation..eventful b'coz this time the "mesmerizing beauty count(MBC)" in Kolkata had surged up to 183(an all time high for a 7 day break),it was time to return back to Rourkela(a place with very low MBC count and my insti) for the new year's bash here which generally attracts whatever little MBC it has. This though wasn't the primary reason(before readers get me terribly wrong),NITR registration dates were also imminent.
Getting back to the topic again....My parents had also come to Kolkata but had left two days ago(Trade Union strike meant all the executives on leave had to join ASAP) and they had taken most of the luggage too(they still think i'm not responsible enough). So on the 30th of December, after having lunch at my maternal uncle's place,I left with the remaining few(luggage) for the station...
Kolkata is famous for only two things....the Victoria Memorial and the Yellow taxis(contemplated hard about adding KnightRiders to the list but...probably next year).I approached one such taxi and asked,"Bhaiyya Howrah chaloge".He nodded and before I had got in an MB hopped right in through the other side(without even negotiating on the venue).."Howrah" she said...This was the Kolkata way!!!"Koi nahin...dono baith jaaiye..ek hi jagah to jaana hai".."No issues",I said...even she agreed without any further discussions(apni bhi charming personality hai..)
Speaking about me..I may come across as a shy guy at first and might have an unfavourable first impression but give me time and you'll find me interesting. Now about her...she came across as a student, probably not a 'bong'and probably belonging from a rich 'Marwari'family."Hi", she said(breaking my analysis abruptly..)"I'm Shrestha"...."Hi..Snigdharup".."Which train"..I asked(pretty bad first question I guess)....."Coromondel Express and you??".."Gitanjali express"...grey cells began their work and I asked,"So,SRM..great college"..her bag had given away the details.."How did you know??".."Your bag leaked the info!!"...."I'm from NIT Rourkela"..I could sense that she knew about an NIT(very few don't) but a place called Rourkela(though the name has a German descent)was beyond her!!..but she still put in a blank nod coupled up with a dumb smile..something that MB's do very often...never mind...the ice had been broken...now she began to talk incessantly(a general characteristic that is observed in a female)and I put in a few witty comments evry now and then...The supposed forty five minute journey was extended by another thirty minutes..owing to the Kolkata traffic(no issues this time though...I was having a good time). Finally Howrah station arrived..we parted not before exchanging email id's(on her request..sachhi)..I payed the total fare(chivalry my foot)...The trains had already arrived and we had to rush...but the start wasn't bad at all!!

Luck'ier'

I had just found my seat(damn!!it was Side Lower)..When I travel alone I generally pray for safety and an MB to have a seat beside 'yours truly' and inevitably the first one gets accepted and the second one get rejected to the extent that everytime I get a seat alongside a cry baby who cries all night or a Paan chewing uncle who spits all over the place!!This time, hence, the prayer was restricted to safety!!
Just as I was watching the Chennai bound COROMONDEL EXPRESS passing by I heard a voice,"Excuse me is this S5 seat number 24"..and as i turned my face..it was another MB(she's more beautiful than Shrestha)..God this day's going to be historical...."yes,I said" and helped her with her luggage(chivalry...this time claiming my shoulder).."heavy??",she asked.."no definitely not(even superman would have found it difficult)"...."Hi this is Snigdharup"..."hi..Vibha"...her bag didn't give off any clues this time!!!"I'm going to Chakradhrpur"she said "our hols just started and I'm going home for a month after a long time..hence the heavy luggage"..."great" I came up "though our hols are getting over"...She then sat down...and we continued our discrete conversations(yes/no type questions..but the ice wasn't breaking)...frustated I then took out 'Shalimar, the Clown' and pretended reading it but btw How can someone go through a Rushdie stuff when one of the prettiest girls you've ever seen was sitting right across??But the move paid off..."Rushdie..my favourite",she said and then the famous girl syndrome took over(Salman Rushdie had done what the Salman Khan in me couldn't)..We started talking more freely now and don't know when the conversation moved on from Rushdie to Segal to Orwell to 'our very own' Chetan Bhagat(pity that a few idiots got the better of this IIT+IIM passout)to Salman(khan this time) to Shahrukh(not the dog),Deepika ,Dhoni,Yuvi and what not!!As was earlier the case she did most of the talking and I came up with a few very relevant PJ's(a friend told me about their importance) to which she smiled...the dimple in her face adding to the beauty!!Kgp came and went,Tatanagar escaped and finally CKP had arrived..I helped her off the train with that heavy 'supermanesque' luggage of hers...But this time the lady insisted on exchanging cell numbers to stay in contact(not my initiative...shapath)..and she went away..The next one and a half hour passed just recollecting the events of the day..Rourkela had arrived!!

Luckiest

I took an auto straight to my residence...My parents were waiting..I freshened up..had my dinner and as soon as I switched my TV(I've this habit of watching the news before I collapse on the bed)...the Breaking news read "Blast near Rourkela station...Gitanjali express was lucky enough to escape the blast as it passed only a few minutes before the blast...Movement on this route has been temporarily stopped....It is suspected that the Maoists have masterminded the operation primarily targetting the GITANJALI EXP..."
WHAT IF the train would've been a little late...WHAT IF the blast occured exactly below my compartment and several other WHAT if's ran across my mind...Gooseflesh was all over!!The MBC was up to 185 but it was nowhere on my mind at that instant!!
An eventful day had passed with me getting Luckier as the time passed...jaan hai toh jahaan hai emerging as the quote of the day!!
